GROVE COUNSELLING

Counselling Services for individuals across SW London

Therapy for people who carry a lot of responsibility — and are finding the pressure difficult to manage.

From the outside, your life may look successful.

You may have built a career, manage significant responsibilities, and be someone others rely on. Yet internally you may be struggling with anxiety, stress, anger, low mood, relationship difficulties, or a growing sense that life feels harder than it should.

I offer confidential counselling and psychotherapy for adults who want to understand what lies beneath these difficulties and make meaningful, lasting change.

Before training as a therapist, I spent more than 30 years working in senior professional roles in both London and Sydney. I understand first-hand the pressures that can come with demanding careers, responsibility, high expectations, and the difficulty many people experience in asking for help.

Together, we can create a space to understand what is happening in your life and work towards change that feels genuine and sustainable.

I commonly work with people experiencing:

Workplace stress and burnout

You may feel permanently under pressure, unable to switch off, exhausted by responsibility, or increasingly disconnected from the work that once motivated you.

Anxiety and overthinking

Persistent worry, racing thoughts, perfectionism, fear of failure, or a sense that you are constantly carrying tension.

Anger and emotional regulation

Perhaps frustration builds quickly, conflict is affecting your relationships, or you find yourself reacting more intensely than you intend.

Relationship difficulties

Patterns of conflict, emotional distance, difficulty communicating openly, or relationships strained by stress, resentment, or unmet needs.

Depression and loss of direction

Low mood, reduced motivation, emotional numbness, or a feeling that something important in life has become stuck.

Identity, self-worth and life transitions

Questions around meaning, confidence, ageing, career change, retirement, separation, or a growing sense that life no longer feels aligned.

Testimonials

"Piers is a first class therapist and with his patience, kindness, open minded and professionalism he has been working hard to teach me how to love myself; believe in myself and help me to unpick issues that I thought were solved or inexistent.
Every time I have a session Piers it's good in making me feel relaxed and he does not prejudge.

It is an honour to have worked and continue working towards this journey with a compassionate therapist as Piers."

F, 28, London

"Working with Piers gave me a genuinely different way of approaching my anxiety. The ERP framework he introduced has been the most practical thing I've tried, and it's something I'm still using and building on. He is very welcoming and easy to talk to and I would be happy to recommend him to others."

S, 26, Kent

"I went to Piers looking for help with some serious issues in my marriage and a few other important relationships in my life. Over the past year, the work we've done together has helped me repair my marriage and get those other relationships back on track. Piers genuinely listened, helped me make sense of what was really going on, and worked through it all with me until we reached a place that felt like a real, lasting outcome. I'm hugely grateful."
